BAVC is excited to be a part of the upcoming Silverdocs Film Festival in Silver Spring, Maryland June 18-23. Please join us for one or more of the following events!

• The American Graduate Program in Action BAVC's Factory graduate Lily Yu will participate in this panel exploring the high school dropout crisis and potential solutions. (Wednesday, June 20 9:15 a.m., Silver Spring Civic Building, Spring Room)
• It's Alive: Tools for Documentary Storytelling BAVC and ITVS lead an inspiring transmedia storytelling workshop for up to 30 filmmakers with demos of Sparkwise, Mozilla's Popcorn, Zeega and Google Fusion Tables. (Wednesday, June 20 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Silver Spring Civic Building, Great Hall 1)
• Doc-maker as General Contractor: The Independent Producer's Evolving Job Description Jen Gilomen will moderate a panel with doc filmmakers Pete Nicks (The Waiting Room), Katie Dellamaggiore (Brooklyn Castle), Malika Zouhail-Worrall (Call Me Kuchu), and Matthew Meschery, Director of Digital Initiatives at ITVS. • Hackathon Panel Sponsored by the Living Docs project (Mozilla, ITVS, Tribeca Film Institute, BAVC and the Center for Social Media), the Silverdocs Hackathon will add a new dimension - public data. Come by the panel at the end of the two day session to see what four teams of filmmakers and hackers can generate in two days - and where they will go from there. • Living Docs Happy Hour Join us for drinks and conversation. (Thursday, June 21 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Silver Spring Civic Building, Gallery and Courtyard)
• Making a Smaller World: Youth Voices Speak Up Factory grads Sydney Matterson and David Johnson screen films and participate in a discussion of youth filmmaking. (Saturday, June 23 10:30 a.m., Silver Spring Civic Building, Great Hall 1)
