You grew up believing the more experience you gained the more valuable you were to an employer. Ten, fifteen, twenty-five years on the job and you'd retire The Wise One, happy to have contributed to the workforce. Then technology disrupted our world and all bets were off. In fact, you may have been downsized or been laid off but what if you still need to work another 10-20 years? Who will hire you and how do you get hired? Join 50-something BAVC Director of Training Mindy Aronoff for a one-hour TechSF workshop where you'll begin to take an honest look at assessing your skill set, discovering where your challenges are and creating the blueprint for redesigning the new you. Topics covered include:
- They lied: how society led us astray
- Busting through the barrier of "they only hire young people"
- Making your resume relevant to employers
- Recreating your portfolio or demo reel
- Job searching: it's a whole new ball game
- Recognizing the silver linings--there are a lot of them
- Resources to plug back into the workforce
