Join BAVC for an evening of innovative storytelling featuring award-winning documentary filmmaker Sam Green and sound artist Dave Cerf. Green and Cerf will present three of their groundbreaking live documentaries. Combining film, live narration and sound mixing, The Voyager Spacecraft uses the materials of the "Golden Record," a collection of photographs, natural sounds and music compiled by astronomer Carl Sagan in 1977 for a time capsule inside the unmanned interstellar Voyager Spacecraft. They will also premiere two new short works, The Last Person in the Phone Book and an as-yet-titled piece. A conversation with the artists and a reception will follow the program.

Sam Green's 2004 documentary The Weather Underground, with music by Cerf, was completed at BAVC and went on to be nominated for an Academy Award, broadcast nationally on PBS and included in the Whitney Biennial. Green's live documentary projects include The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller, which features a live score by legendary indie rock band Yo La Tengo;Utopia in Four Movements; and The Measure of All Things, which premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. Dave Cerf is a filmmaker, musician, sound artist and software designer who, in addition to The Weather Underground, has composed music for Scott Kennedy's film OT and performed live accompaniment over the films of Jennifer Reeves, Pat O'Neill and Melinda Stone.
