This four-week course specifically teaches students how to safely operate Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS or “drones”) for capturing dynamic aerial photographs. Emphasis will be placed on learning the relevant FAA regulations, having students practice operating DJI Mavic 2 Pro model drones (and Phantom4), and offering lessons for strong compositional aesthetics for aerial videos. The instructor will need to become familiar with the policies for University of California Unmanned Aircraft System Safety, and teach students to operate within those rules.

This teaching position is expected to deliver the specified hours of course delivery per week for Fall 2021. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website.
