Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC) is seeking Audio Post Production Instructors to teach audio post production skills and techniques to mostly adult students, primarily using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition.  This would be to teach an introductory as well as an intermediate class.  Classes are held quarterly, on a Friday and Saturday, and are from 10am-6pm.

BAVC is a community hub and resource for media makers in the Bay Area and across the country, serving over 7,500 freelancers, filmmakers, job-seekers, activists, and artists every year. BAVC provides access to media making technology, storytelling workshops, a diverse and engaged community of makers and producers, services and resources. BAVC inspires social change by empowering media makers to develop and share diverse stories through art, education and technology.

Responsibilities 

Be able to teach the following skills and techniques:

How to discern specific problems with audio content.
How to formulate strategies to increasing the quality of problematic audio.
How to manipulate the interface of an Equalizer within Premiere Pro and Audition.
How to apply Subtractive EQ and Additive EQ to audio clips.
How to apply Noise Reduction to audio clips within Audition.
How to optimize the use of a Compressor and a Limiter for balanced audio levels.
How to Equalize music underscoring to sit underneath VO / Dialogue.
How to understand the art of implementing technical and creative approaches to audio.
 

Qualifications 

Minimum of 5 years as an audio engineer, sound designer and/or audio post instructor. Be currently working as a recording, mixing and/or mastering engineer.  Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.  Experience producing audio for video is a must.
