Master the techniques used to make web pages rank higher on Google and other search engines! The class will be broken down into three sections: keyword research, on-site SEO techniques, and off-site SEO techniques. Along the way we'll expose you to industry-standard tools and resources where you can learn more. We'll show you how to find the right keywords for any company and how to evaluate the competitive landscape. "On-site" techniques involve site structure, html tags, keyword density, sitemaps and rich snippets – as well as techniques for developing fresh, authoritative, and high-quality content. Off-site techniques involve link-building campaigns, social sharing, press releases and citations. We'll also show you how to use Webmaster Tools and the SEO-related aspects of Google Adwords and Analytics. Consultants in the field will be invited as guest speakers to discuss their SEO marketing strategies and how they've implemented them for their individual clients. This course is ideal for an internet-savvy student with strong pattern-recognition skills and an analytical mindset; experience in marketing, advertising, e-commerce, web design, or programming is helpful but not required.
