The Graphic Production and Installation Associate assists in the layout, production and installation of all temporary exhibition, core gallery, and institutional graphics, murals, labels, wall text, and signage.

• Assist in the production and installation of exhibition and institutional graphics including weeding text, installing large-scale wall coverings, and preparing substrates for print application
• Assist with the preparation and printing of graphic materials including outdoor signage, wall text, murals, and labels
• Assist with file set-up under the supervision of the Graphic Production and Installation Specialist and in collaboration with the 2D Exhibition
Designer to create production-ready files.
• Layout text and graphics for exhibitions and core gallery installations that follow guidelines established by 2D Exhibition Designer
• Assist with outside vendor communications and pick up materials and printed signage produced out-of-house
• Perform materials research


A combination of experience and education that demonstrates possession of the necessary knowledge and abilities for this position is required as noted:

• 3-5 years related experience required
• 2 or more years related technical experience in a specific area preferred
• Experience with large format printing methods and practices
• Familiarity with different types of printer media and supplies (range of papers, vinyl substrates, transfer tapes, inks, banners)
• Knowledge of and adherence to personal and workplace safety procedures and tool operation
• Intermediate knowledge of museum standards for environment, artifact handling, storage and display
• Color theory and color management practices
• Familiarity with fabrication methods in wood and metal, and basic exhibition construction, to properly integrate graphics into the exhibition
• Vinyl signage installation skills (including but not limited to murals, cut text)
• Proficient working in Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), PC and Mac environments
• Experience typesetting
• Onyx 12 production/rip software and Cutting Master 3
• Strong attention to detail is required
