The School of Motion Pictures & Television fosters creativity and independence in film making as an art. We also provide instruction in the commercial aspects of film making as a business. Our approach is dedicated to practical, hands-on training in a collaborative framework. Students are immersed in a broad range of film making skills, including producing, directing, cinematography, lighting, sound, editing, screenwriting, production design, and acting.

Responsibilities 

Academy of Art University is looking for an Edit Lab Technician to join their prestigious Motion Pictures and Television Department. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining and securing video and audio editing equipment. You will also be responsible for assisting students, faculty, and staff in solving technical problems.

Qualifications 

Candidates must have at least 1-2 years’ work experience with the following programs:
AVID (required)
Premiere (required)
ProTools (preferred)
After Effects (preferred)
Must possess strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software on Macintosh and OS X
Must have a working knowledge of video editing, pro analog and DV decks, audio mixers, and applications
