Are you passionate about giving kids the confidence to have their ideas and voices heard? Do you believe in using the power of video for social change? As a Program Co-Director at New Voices for Youth, you'll have the chance to provide youth ages 10-14 the skills to create their own video and express their concerns about their own communities.

This is a part-time position, paid position—32 to 40 hours per month on average--in Redwood City, CA. If necessary, increased hours may be authorized by Steering Committee. Work starts ASAP.

Payment rate is $25/hour.


Youth Activities
•       Develop and teach after-school programs at the Siena Youth Center, Redwood City
•       Encourage youth participants to find their own voices and to speak up
•       Organize and teach video filming and editing techniques
•       Complete a student video for presentation to local community groups
•       Identify program needs and gaps – equipment, resources
•       Other tasks as may be appropriate

Project Activities
•       Work with youth to incorporate their participation in presentations
•.     Recruit and encourage youth in Redwood City to participate in the program
•       Work closely with and report program activities to members of the New Voices Steering Committee
•       Develop Social Media Accounts for a variety of audiences
•.     Community outreach to other organizations – presentations, individual contacts
•       Guide and supervise work of assistant teachers, interns and volunteers


Skills & Experience
•       Basic knowledge of digital video production and desire to learn more
•       Some experience working with youth as a coach, mentor, class leader, or similar capacity
•       Familiarity with social media posting and marketing
•       Organized, responsible, takes initiative
•       Good communication skills
