Internship details:
Date needed: Jan/Feb 2016
Hours per week: 15-20
Duration: 3-4 months
For college credit only.


• Assist Digital Content Manager in the management of the Social Media Team and Social Media editorial calendar
• Attend all Social Media Team meetings
• Create and post Social updates and San Francisco Opera blog articles in the voice and tone of San Francisco Opera
• Process analytic Social data and create Social reports for the Social Media Team and the Company at large
• Collaborate with the Social Media Team in the creation and implementation of long-term Social campaigns
• Participate in the day-to-day work of the Audience Engagement department
• Brainstorm new, highly shareable content for our different audiences on each our different platforms
• Other job-related duties as assigned


• All interns must be students currently enrolled in an accredited academic program at a college or university, and eligible for academic credit for the internship.
• Must be able to commit 15-20 hours per week for the entire internship
• The ideal candidate will have strong writing and editing skills, an exceptional eye for detail, and have basic knowledge of various Social Media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
• An enthusiasm for classical music and opera is preferred, but not required.

Additionally, all interns are expected to possess these minimum qualifications: knowledge of their subject area, proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to work as a team player, ability to organize and prioritize, and ability to take direction well. A valid California driver’s license is preferred.
