Job Description Summary:
The Multi Media Lead, under supervision of the Chief Information Officer, functions as the escalation point of contact and subject matter expert for all multimedia systems at the University, including A/V presentation systems, sound systems, digital signage, lighting, video conferencing, and video recording. Facilitator for teachers and students in the effective use of instructional technology and equipment; technical and instructional support for Multi Media technicians and other instructional staff; technical and instructional support for electronic/broadcast media in select locations
The Multi Media Lead is responsible for providing support to faculty and staff on Audio Visual (A/V) systems, provide a comprehensive knowledge of A/V low voltage systems to develop technical solutions and conceptual engineering design specifications that meet customer requirements, and effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
This is a fully onsite position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates technological support of University events to include but not limited to commencement, pinning’s and online forums; plans and produces multi-media productions [35%].
Provides leadership to media services technicians, evaluates Media Services resources, and services; researches, recommends and coordinates the acquisition, installation, operation, and maintenance of instructional technologies in classrooms to support the Universities strategic mission and goals. [25%]
Evaluates effectiveness of existing services; identifies, creates and implements new and/or improved services; develops, implements and manages policies and procedures. [25%]
Stays current on future trends and initiates procedures to adjust to the changing role of Media Services; maintains current knowledge of technological developments; keeps abreast of professional developments by attending conferences, seminars, and workshops and reading appropriate professional literature. [10%]
Perform other related duties as assigned. [5%]

Serves as the primary WebEx Event Coordinator/Support.
Provide operational/technical support on A/V systems.
Assist users at point of contact (on-location or in the Media Services Office) by resolving basic functionality and equipment problems, seeking answers to more complex problems, and arranging for follow-up resolution if the problem cannot be resolved immediately.
Engage in research and education on important advancements in Audio/Visual and classroom technology standards.
Possess a working knowledge of all the major A/V applications, hardware, and network, used within the University community.
Supports system-wide technology initiatives including the Technology Modernization Program.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and related field experience.
Five or more years working experience in the A/V field in an Engineering/Systems Support capacity.
Proficient in basic programming of A/V control systems.
Knowledge and basic programming of digital signal processing (DSP).
Understanding of structured cabling systems and basic networking skills.
Ability to train and mentor end users on operational procedures of technical equipment.
Knowledge in the use and operation of digital mixing consoles.
Experience providing technical support for personal computers required.
Experience providing technical support for Mac computers desired.
Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation, technical specifications and drawings.
Other requirements:

Wage range: $38.56 to $48.17 per hour
Samuel Merritt University currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements.
