CodeBAVC is an educational opportunity for people who want to learn more about tech and coding languages at no cost. Currently, Bay Area Video Coalition offers two weekly CodeBAVC labs: San Francisco Public Library Main Branch and Twitter's Neighbor Nest. The SFPL coding lab is a drop-in lab and is open to anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area. The coding lab at Neighbor Nest is a structured eight-to-ten-week cohort model and requires participants to commit to completing the course. All participants are encouraged to enroll in TechSF after completing the course.  CodeBAVC utilizes two online education platforms to enhance student knowledge: Team Treehouse and LinkedIn Learning (formerly If you are interested in learning tech and are up for the challenge please drop in or sign up for the next CodeBAVC Cohort.

Neighbor Nest Requirements

  • Students must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Students should have an interest in learning HTML/CSS & Javascript
  • Students must possess knowledge of basic math
  • Students must be able to attend and complete an 8-week session
  • Students must complete all homework and class assignments
  • Students must have a LinkedIn Account
