Verse Gabrielle joined BAVC in 2016 as Admissions Counselor. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she has performed and traveled around the world as a spoken word artist/playwright. In 2007 she started her own performance arts collective Sai Werd Ink which birthed the dynamic duo Poetic Assassins. She is a published author, playwright, and spoken word artist. Verse has performed at universities such as UCLA, Arizona University, Macalaster College, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, University of Wisconsin along with several others. Her debut album Red D.O.T.T. was released in 2010 and won her Twin Cities spoken word awards.

Before arriving at BAVC Verse held essential positions at the University of San Francisco, University of Minnesota, and DePaul University due to her love of education settings. Verse has a B.A. and M.A. in Sociology. In addition to providing logistical support to BAVC's TechSF Program and Certificate Programs, Verse hopes to continue her engagement in the performing arts, research, and social justice platforms. A doctoral program is a great consideration (we shall see). She currently lives in San Francisco's Fillmore neighborhood and is married with three beautiful dogs. Sai Werd!!!!
