Training and career services for San Francisco residents
BAVC Media has partnered with San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) TechSF initiative since 2012, as Tech Sector Operator and Apprenticeship Coordinator.
As Tech Sector Operator, BAVC Media provided training and career services to over 1,500 people, helping them land in-demand jobs and boosting access to workforce pipelines for San Francisco residents. We connected with local career centers to support Individual Training Account participants, and teamed up with TechSF partners including JVS, Dev/Mission, Goodwill Industries, Upwardly Global, CCSF, MEDA, and Code Tenderloin to keep all TechSF goals on track.
As TechSF Apprenticeship Coordinator BAVC Media works closely with OEWD to increase awareness of and participation in Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-apprenticeship, and coordinates with employers and stakeholders to ensure these programs run smoothly. BAVC partners with employers, training providers, community organizations, sector groups, and other key players in the workforce landscape.
Our essential role is to help participants find direct placements in Registered Apprenticeships and Pre-Apprenticeship, and to link participants to training opportunities. BAVC and OEWD are committed to building workforce pathways for those who are unemployed, underemployed, or underrepresented in their industries.
