Better Together Fellowship

BAVC Media and PG&E Partnership

BAVC Media (Bay Area Video Coalition) is offering two paid fellowships in partnership with PG&E. BAVC Media will provide an opportunity for in-depth professional development to aspiring videographers and editors from underrepresented communities while supporting social impact storytelling and content creation.

Fall 2025 Fellowship Tracks

Fellowships will occur between the last week of July and December 5, 2025.

Deadline to apply is Monday, May 26 at 11:59PM PT. Early applications are strongly encouraged.

Each fellow will receive a stipend of $5,000 and emerge from the program with enhanced skills, expanded portfolios, and strong connections to new mentors and peers.

Assistant Editor Fellowship

Three fellows will be selected to train as assistant editors over the course of a four-month program.

The fellows will hone their craft and build experience through the editing of professional video pieces, with a focus on stories that highlight PG&E grantees and supported communities. They will work in-person in a professional editing lab with industry-standard equipment for 20 hours each month, with an additional 10 hours of work per month, remotely.

Media Producer Fellowship

Three fellows will be selected to train as media producers (i.e. videographers) over the course of a four-month program.

The fellows will hone their craft and build experience through filming various video projects, with a focus on stories that highlight PG&E grantees and supported communities. They will work in-person, on location, using industry-standard equipment for 20-30 hours each month. Additional meetings may be completed remotely.

Sponsored by Blackmagic Design, who have generously provided the use of Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K Cameras for participants during the fellowship.
