Modern Media Making: Tools, Trades, and Technology
Designed for adults commited to advancing their careers with hands-on training built for their schedules.
- Sessions are taught by industry professionals.
- Sessions are mostly live and in-person at BAVC Media's center in San Francisco, and take place over six months.
- These programs are designed to help students enter or advance within a specific occupational track. The three tracks that we are offering are: Line Producer, AV Field Engineer and AI Enhanced Media Producer.
- Students are selected through an application process. Each cohort has 12-15 students. This program has sliding scale tuition.
Line Producer/Unit Production Manager Track
This mid-level program prepares participants for producing and production management roles. It is designed for individuals with at least two years of experience in documentary or narrative film production. Line Producers/Unit Production Managers are essential for keeping films on time and budget, safe and professional.

- Scheduling & logistics
- Labor relations, contracts & production law
- Field production practicum
- Career readiness & the business of producing
This program is complementary to City College of San Francisco's Pre-Production/Producing Certificate of Achievement.
The Line producer Training will run from the end of November 2026 through the end of February 2027.
