Develop skills necessary to pursue a second or “encore” career. Topics include goal setting, how the definition of “career’ has changed over the years, and effective search strategies for today’s world, resume writing, preparing for an interview and addressing issues of aging in today’s workplace.
Program includes:
- Identify an encore career goal and at least two ways to network with others to reach that goal.
- Describe at least two job search techniques and complete an on line or hard copy job application.
- Use social media as a means of career development.
- Construct a resume and cover letter and demonstrate current interview strategies.
Throughout the course references will be cited, and resources for further discovery will be mentioned. No texts are required for the course.
