SF Commons Open House

Come join SF Commons – San Francisco public access television, for our open house on September 6th from 7-8pm. There are many ways to participate in SF Commons. Bye Bye Bullying

October is anti-bullying awareness month and the San Francisco District Attorney's office is presenting Bye Bye Bullying,  a video contest for middle school and high school students. Cyberbullying is a serious problem affecting 52% of the students in the U.S.  It involves using technology, like smart phones and the Internet, to bully or harass another person.  To recognize Anti-Bullying Awareness Month, the Women’s Steering Committee of the San Francisco District Attorney’s office announces the second video contest for students to address cyberbullying and harassment. VA Recognizes BAVC Media with Golden Gate Bridge Award

This morning we were honored to be part of a gathering of veterans and program staff at the San Francisco V.A. Medical Center, where BAVC Media was awarded a Golden Gate Bridge Award "for outstanding efforts in expanding social, leisure, or work connections within the community." Our work with veterans is through an ongoing partnership with the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC), an important set of services and programs that support veterans who have mental illness. SF Stories: A Shared Experience

With support from the James Irvine Foundation's Exploring Engagement Fund, BAVC Media is working with local social service agencies to provide a series of digital storytelling workshops: SF Stories: A Shared Experience. Workshop participants learn digital storytelling from start to finish, and completing three-minute digital stories for exhibition on public access television, the Web and in non-traditional exhibition spaces, including at community events and at the social service agencies. White House names BAVC Media key partner in announcement of national jobs initiative

BAVC Media announces release of QCTools: an open source software for video archivists

BAVC Media’s preservation program announces new online preservation resource supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation

San Francisco, CA – Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC Media) announces the release of AV Compass, a free web-based resource created to empower individuals and organizations to take urgent first steps to preserve their audiovisual media collections. BAVC Media announces Susie Cagle as Summer 2015 Artist-In-Residence

San Francisco, CA -- Bay Area Video Coalition (BAVC Media) is pleased to announce that Susie Cagle will be the Summer 2015 Resident for BAVC Media’s inaugural Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program, made possible in part through the generosity of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.   The AIR program will give Cagle access to BAVC Media’s state-of-the-art technical facilities and in-house expertise, along with the opportunity to produce work in collaboration with BAVC Media programs.
